Why Do You Need Commanders?
In Grand Tanks, you have the opportunity to hire a crew for your tank.
Commanders are unique tankers that can be assigned to your vehicle and grant it passive bonuses. These bonuses can enhance various tank characteristics:
— Damage
— Rate of Fire
— Armor
— Movement Speed
Each commander is unique and has their own special traits, so it’s important to choose the one that best fits your playstyle and tank type.
To hire a crew, press the “Commander” button.
In the window that opens, you’ll see a list of available commanders for the selected tank. Pay attention — the commander is assigned specifically to the tank you choose! Once hired, a commander cannot be reassigned to another vehicle.
After hiring a Commander, you can upgrade them! The higher the commander’s level, the more powerful your tank becomes. All commanders can be upgraded — except Holiday Commanders, who are only available during special events and holidays for a limited time.
Some commanders are temporary — you’ll need to hire them again after their time expires. Don’t worry, though — if you’ve already upgraded a commander on a specific tank, all progress will be saved, and they will retain their upgraded level when re-hired.
Types of Commanders
There are four types of commanders:
Universal Commanders — Suitable for any tank, but available only for a limited time. Their upgrade progress is saved even after their mobilization period ends.
National Commanders — Only work with tanks from a specific nation. These commanders are hired permanently and reflect the strengths of their assigned tank group.
Special Commanders — Designed for specific tanks. They are hired permanently and provide the maximum bonuses for their dedicated vehicles.
Holiday Commanders — Appear in the game during festive events, offer top-tier characteristics, and don’t require upgrades. Available for a limited time only.
